Hot Melt Bonding System for inline or offline bonding of optical media. Historically hot melt bonding was used for bonding of Laser discs and magneto optical discs. Hot melt bonding is not only more economically than UV bonding. As well our partners can profit from the possibility producing new CD- / DVD-standards such as UDO discs, Blue Ray, DVD-plus, DVD-D and of besides as well DVD-R and other.

Spindle handling
Our elap is feeded by a 6-fold receiver for Layer 0 and Layer 1 each. Every spindle on the folder acommodates 255 dischalves for a continoius material flow. In the inline solution an extra handling feeds these folders.

Coating ¡V Hot melt apply
The Hot Melt coating is done by our patented 4-roller system. This systems provides for precise and repeatable adhesive application. The upper unit consits of a dosing and application roller. These rollers are fixed on a adjustable unit to ensure the precise application. The integrated blades clear the rollers of remainding adhesive.
The lower rollers provide for continous clean coating.
Conditional on this roller principle every part of the disc¡¦s surface that is in contact with the apllication roller is coated with adhesive. This principle offers advantages in production of DVD-D formats and other.

Bonding
ELAP signifies Evacuated Liquid Adhesive Process.
The central handling unit serves the two layers in one move to the bonding unit.
The bonding unit is featured by two bonding chambers for fast cycle times. The two bonding chambers can be adjust independently to keep flexibility in production.
Centering pins guarantee precise guiding of the disc halves.
Two bonding chambers are responsible for superior bubble-free bonding. Besides the external pressure the bonding chambers are evacuated during bonding. This vacuum guarantees a perfect bonding result.

Disc inspection
The inegrated scanner checks the products on optical and mechanical defects. This feature offers our customers a truly inline process even when the system is running offline. We use scanner from dr. Schwab which are fully inline compatible and easy to operate via our user interface. Scanner from dr. Schwab disinguish themselves by high resolution optics for precise defect detection and self-calibrating for quick installation.
Also the scanner is easy to replace to get comparable reports from all their lines with scanners from only one supplier.
